Practical work plays a very large role in the Cisco Networking Academies curriculum. Students build their own patch, crossover and rollover cables, test them and use them in real networks.

Students spend a considerable proportion of lesson time assembling, configuring, testing and troubleshooting real networks using Cisco routers, switches and hubs. Students gain hands-on experience configuring workstations and routers for a variety of protocols and networking situations.
